Islam, the best philosophy

The human intellect seeks a philosophy which can solve the mystery of this world. If man pays attention to his inner voice, he finds that there are many questions in his mind, which need an answer. What is the purpose of his existence? Is there a God? What is the best way of living? To get the answers, he analyses different ideologies being followed in this world.

At first, he considers the philosophies put forward by various intellectuals. Atheism fails to satisfy him. It cannot explain the perfect order of this universe. Also, he feels the need of a superior being, to which he can turn to in his difficult times. Then there are capitalism and communism, each claiming to be the best system. He finds fault in both of them. In communism, there is no competition in the society, which is necessary for progress, whereas in capitalism, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. He also finds that the philosophies given by men do not address his spiritual aspect. They have made this world materialistic and superficial.

Disappointed, he turns to religion. A question arises in his mind. Which is the best religion? So he does a comparative study. On reading about Islam, he discovers that Islam has an answer to all his queries. The concept of God, who is just, all-knowing, all-powerful, the most merciful and the most beneficent, appeals to him. He comes to know that this world is a test for the hereafter. As one sows in this world, so shall he reap in the hereafter. The belief in hereafter satisfies him because he sees that in this world, the righteous does not always get rewarded and the wrongdoer does not always get punished. He gets peace of mind through prayers, self-restraint through fasting. He appreciates the fact that a person cannot be a good Muslim, unless he is a good human being. He acknowledges that Islam has the solution for the problems of humankind. There is system of Zakat, so that the poor are taken care of. There is no place of interest in the economic system of Islam. Everything that is injurious to humanity has been prohibited. Alcohol and other intoxicating things, gambling, vulgarity, unjust killing of people are only some of the examples. It is the only religion in this world, that has given due rights to women. It has established a perfect family system, where everyone has rights and duties. No one can give a more just law of inheritance that Islam. In short, it is the complete code of life, the best art of living.

On comparing other religions with Islam, he feels that, though of divine origin, they have adulterated by humans. The concept of many gods in Hinduism, trinity in Christianity, is quite dissatisfying and confusing. The caste system in Hinduism seems so unjust. In religions other than Islam, renouncement of this world is necessary for gaining spiritual strength and closeness to God. It dawns on him that Islam is the only religion which presents a balanced way of life.

At last, human intellect is satisfied. The mystery of this universe is solved. No doubt remains in mind that Islam is the best philosophy in this world.
